Torquay II – Stunning family home on a sloping block

For the design and construction of this Deep Creek home Clarke & Co had to meet some very specific challenges. Built on a sloping block according to stringent developer guidelines, the owners also wanted a home that reflected their young family’s lifestyle.
With two young children, the family wanted to ensure their home had separate zones for kids and parents – or more specifically a room for the kids to play in where they could be seen but not heard.
The solution: a C-shaped floorplan with the kitchen-dining room located directly opposite the rumpus-cum-playroom but separated by an outdoor living area allowing parents to keep an eye on the kids as they play.
The owners also wanted a private Master Bedroom with a wonderful view that could never be built in. To ensure the view would remain unspoilt, a second storey was added to the design with the Master Bedroom located on the first floor.
