Yarraville, Melbourne – Liberating spaces within an existing cottage

Client:

Architect:

Scope:
Residential Renovation

NEW ENTRY · KITCHEN · LIVING · DINING · BATHROOM · 149 SQM

For the design and construction of this renovation of a Federation style cottage in Yarraville, Clarke & Co liberated the previously cramped Entry, Kitchen, Living and Dining Spaces.

This occurred through the removal of multiple existing walls and doors combined with the refurbishment of the space with new materials and fixtures, alongside the extension of the living spaces further into the backyard. Externally, this was linked to an existing bungalow through new decking.

Beyond this, the Bathroom was redesigned and refurbished to increase its space efficiency, and consequently its usability, within a narrow room.

Furthermore, Clarke & Co had to meet some very specific challenges, as these works had to occur while operating within the constraints of a confined block.
